Perico first came to the United States in the early 1960's as a sheepherder. After a number of years he began working construction, as a Labor or Pipe fitter.

While in the U.S. Perico was the Basque Champion Woodchopper until a contruction accident and he was no longer able to chop.

Perico's passion in life was his family and fishing. Perico is survived by his son Pedro, his daughter in-law Randi, Jose' Sarratea (which he loved as his own son)and his grandchildren Katrina, Pedro Jonathan (PJ), Izzy, Gabe, Jose' son Jojo and Frances. Also survived by a number of family members in Spain.
