Joseph William " Bill" LeJeune, 81

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Joseph William "Bill" LeJeune, 81, who died December 17, 2008 in Iota.

Fr. Mikel Polson will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Bill served our country by being a member of the United States, Merchant Marines, Navy and the Army during World War II. After his service he became a farmer in Acadia Parish for 25 years, and a developmentalist for the State School in Iota.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lydia Ann Bergeron LeJeune of Iota; two daughters, Linda Aguillard and her husband Dexter of Mexia, TX, and Mona LeJeune of Iota; three sons, Gilbert LeJeune and his wife Diane, Dennis LeJeune and his wife Georgette, and Shannon LeJeune and his wife Shawn all of Iota; one sister, Lula Bellon and her husband Kenny of Iota; fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Gaulbert and Joesine Pousson LeJeune; and two brothers, Ivy "Slim" LeJeune, and Ivan "Black" LeJeune.
