Iris E. Chandler, 89, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Buckhannon, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, in Woodstock, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Chandler.
Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy Gear of Eubanks, N.Y., Maxine Deal of Port Orange, Fla., and Geneva Bennett of Edgewater, Fla.; two sons, Roger Chandler of Edgewater, Fla., and Larry Chandler of Woodstock, Ga.; 27 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Imogene Chandler and Shirley Biesel; and two sons, James Chandler and Harold Chandler.

She was a lifelong member of Living Water Church, a life member of Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars 3282, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans 36 of French Creek.

She was a courageous woman and a shining example of faith and love for the Lord.

Friends will be received at the Poling St. Clair Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Frank Long will officiate and interment will follow in the Bethlehem Church Cemetery in French Creek.
