The son of Orville Allen and Hannah Rogers.

James married Dellia Gegoux on 2 Feb 1895 at Clayton, Jefferson County, New York. They had children together named Perl, Viola, Ruth, Harold, Rolland, Edna, Raymond, Ada, Pauline, Wilson and Reta. James had been a farmer.

JAMES S. ALLEN, 59, THREE MILE BAY, DIES

Chaumont, Jan. 6. -- James S. Allen, 59, a lifelong resident of the town of Lyme and the town of Cape Vincent, died at his home near Three Mile Bay Saturday evening about 7 from complication of diseases. He had been a patient at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, for some time and had been in failing health for the past year.
He was born Feb. 12, 1870, in the town of Clayton, the son of Orville and Hannah Rogers Allen. He married Miss Della Gegoux of Clayton, Feb. 2, 1985, who survives. He was a farmer practically all his life. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Three Mile Bay.
Besides his widow, he leaves one brother, Clarence of Theresa; four daughters, Edna, Ada, Pauline and Reta, town of Lyme, near Three Mile Bay, who resided with him; and five sons, Perl O., Harold, Rollard, Raymond and Wilson, who also made their home with their parents.
Funeral services will be held from the late home Tuesday at 1 p.m., Rev. G. A. Foote, pastor of the Methodist church at Three Mile Bay, officiating. Interment will take place in the family plot at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
