Dora Virginia Andrick Delauder, 93, a resident of 616 W. Main St., Elkins, and more recently a resident of Nella's Nursing Home at Crystal Springs, departed this life early Tuesday morning, March 16, 2004, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health since January.
She was born Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1910, at Poe Run, the daughter of the late John Henry Andrick and Mary Catherine Piercy Andrick. Surviving are one daughter, Kathryn Kay Harrison of Laurel, Md; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were one daughter, Charlotte Ann Evans; one sister, Sarah Catherine Chesley; and one grandson, William Eugene Hite.
She attended the school at Poe Run, worked at the Goodyear Blimp Company at Akron, Ohio, during World War II, and was a former employee of the Reidbord Brothers Shirt Factory, the former Working Man's Store, the former Murphy's Jewelry Store and Memorial General Hospital.
She was a member of the former Elkins Lodge 363 Women of the Moose, Aerie 2344 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and the Randolph County Senior Center
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Terry A. Burgess will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens, formerly the IOOF Cemetery, at Elkins. Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Dora Virginia Andrick Delauder.
