Her strong belief in salvation in Jesus Christ has led her to eternal life with her LORD. From her early religious training in the Christian Union Church in Douglas, Okla., she also was a member at First Presbyterian (Dallas), Brookhollow Baptist (DeSoto), and finally First Baptist (Dallas).
Born 91 years ago in Marshall, Okla., she graduated from Oklahoma A&M, received her master's degree from UNT, retired from DISD teaching at Peabody and Mark Twain schools and enjoyed traveling to see her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years; her daughter, Margaret Ann Clayton and husband Mark, (Wylie, Texas); and her son, Robert and wife Gloria, (Gresham, Ore.). She has five grandchildren, Esther Hill (Troutdale, Ore.), Christie Rehmon (Gresham, Ore.), Bethany Taylor (Guam), Trudi Kaufmann (Farmersville) and Kyle Clayton (Southlake). She also has six great-grandchildren, another great-grandchild to be born in April, and two foster great-grandchildren. She also is survived by two sisters, Carrie Raulston (Dallas) and Lou Jackson (Houston), and many cousins.
Visitation will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel at 9 a.m. with the service to follow at 10. A private family burial service will be at DFW National Cemetery later in the afternoon.
