Funeral services were conducted September 8 at the Waldheim Lutheran Church with Rev. Jon Sorum officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Lisa Anderson was born September 29, 1907, in Kathryn, the daughter of Antone and Olga Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Sheyenne Valley Lutheran Church and received her education in a rural school and in Kathryn.
She married Karl Benson in Valley City. They farmed in Thordenskjold Township until retiring and moving to Nome in 1958. He died July 22, 1968. She moved to LaMoure in 1982. She had spent the last spring and summer with her son, Bob, near Bozeman, Mont.
She was a member of the Waldheim Lutheran Church and was a life member of ALCW of the church. She had been a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She is survived by three daughters, Lorraine (Mrs. Melvin) Fornes, Kathryn; donna (Mrs. Walter) Kratz, LaMoure; and Judy (Mrs. Wendell) Kopperud, Wheaton, Mn.; Three sons, Robert of Manhattan, Mont.; Earle of LaMoure and Milo of Fargo; three sisters, Signe Rue of Kathryn; and Selma Sellers and Jeanette Halvorson, both of Portland, Ore.; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sister and two brothers.
