MISSOULA - Norman Darrel Brehm, 65, died at St. Patrick Hospital on Thursday, April 26, 2001.

He was born on June 5, 1935, in Jamestown, N.D., to Roland "Bill" and Hazel Brehm. Norman attended Dawson County Junior College before entering the Army. After serving during the Korean War, he returned to Montana and graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in business.

He worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad and the Burlington Northern in managerial positions in Minnesota, Washington, Alaska, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and Texas before retiring and returning to Missoula.

Norman married Hazel Prestrude in 1960 and had two children, David Roland Brehm of Houston and Kaati Friday Brehm of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife and children; sister Maureen Appelt and husband Jim; five nieces and three nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, at Atonement Lutheran Church. His ashes will be buried at the Prestrude family church, Waldheim Lutheran Church and Cemetery, in Kathryn, N.D.

The Malletta Family of Funeral Homes, Sunset Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
