She began as a member of the Armourdale Baptist Churh, but became a member of the Central Methodist Church (also in Armourdale) when it was founded in 1923; she married Roger Gilbert Meador that same year, and raised one son, Roger Jr. They remained married and members of Central Methodist for 58 years, until her death in 1981.
