Thomas Robertson was born to Sydney McKinley {1804-1895} and Mary "Polly" Crawford {1805-1873} on Sept. 25 1833 in Cabarrus County,North Carolina.

The family migrated to Texas..along with sevaral brothers of Sydney..where Thomas joined the Civil War in the Co.I 7th Infartry of Texas for about 4 years(1861-1865) until he was wounded.in the thigh.

To him and his wife Sarah Jane they had seven children:
Clinton Allison b. 1869, Sidney James b. 1871, Manoah "Noah"b.1872, Emma b. 1875, Leonidas "Lon" b. 1876, Thomas Robson "Tom" b. 1880, and Willey b. 1881

He died in Upshur County, Texas..Gladewater/Union Grove on Aug 31 1909 just shy of seeing his great great-grandson Joel being born.

Thomas filed for his Confederate War Penison when he was 65 yr old in Gilmer, Upshur County, Texas. It was granted On Aug. 17, 1899 by County Judge D. A. Buin.

Thomas was a DESCENDANT of Capt.John McKinley born Northern Ireland 17__ and died in Ohio on 11th day of June 1782 who is the ancestor establishing American Independence while acting in the capacity of Sergeant, Lieutanent, and Captain in the Revolutionary Army of the Virginia Line {SAR}#30033

He ALSO is a Descendant of David "the weaver" McKinley..He and President William McKinley share their third Great grandfather ...
