Kenneth Meigs, 64 of Bremerton, died December 28, 2009. He was born January 10, 1945 in Redding, IA to Clifford & Ida (Yates) Meigs.

He graduated from SKHS and Olympic CC. Ken was self employed for more than 30 years as a General Contractor. He was also a Specialist 5 in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and earning the Purple Heart & Bronze Star.

He was a member of VFW and American Legion. Ken coached girls fastpitch softball and enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports & gardening. He collected hot wheels & comic books for kids & gradkids, liked watching his kids & grandkids, watching old westerns with his grandson Sawyer, and having Sunday dinner with family.

Surviving are sons Ken (Cindi) Meigs, Jr. of Gresham OR & Corey Tucker of Bremerton; daughters Kelsi (Brannon) Williams of Bremerton & Keri Meigs-Groebner of Belfair; brothers Chet (Gladys) Meigs & Walt Meigs, both of Bremerton, Charlie (Deena) Meigs of Belfair; sisters Phemie Knox, Phyllis (Art) Cook & Frieda Spain, all of Port Orchard, Mabel Rainey of Bothel; sister-in-law Mary Meigs of Port Orchard; grandchildren Kolton, Konnor & Kadon Meigs, Sawyer, Austin & Wesley Williams, & Trevor Groebner. He was preceded in death by brothers Bill & Max Meigs.

Special thanks to Doctors Malcolm Winter, Ron Reimer, Joe Johnson & Dennis Willerford, and Chuck Boyd of the Seattle Cancer Care Clinic. Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
