SAD DEATH OF MISS LUCRETIA ACKLEY
Passed Away at the Hospital Sunday Afternoon—Family is Unusually Afflicted
Miss Lucretia Ackley, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ackley, of Liberty township, died at the hospital in this city, Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock, of spinal meningitis and complications, at the age of 32 years. Miss Ackley was born in Liberty township and was a young lady of more than ordinary ability and worth. A few years ago she worked in the Journal office in this city and then went to Idaho, where she taught school four or five years. She returned to her home a few weeks ago in poor health and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Ackley family, among the most highly respected and, esteemed in Liberty township, is being severely afflicted. Last summer one of the daughters died just as she was entering womanhood and a week ago a son passed away at the age of about twenty. Five children survive. They are Mrs. Walter Coble, Liberty township; Paul, residing at home; Sibyl, living with an uncle in Nebraska on account of her poor health, Mrs. Nellie Bean and Mrs. Ella Bedsaul of South.Dakota.
In the hour of crushing sorrow and great bereavement the sympathy of a wide circle of neighbors and friends go out to the stricken father and mother and brother and sisters.
The funeral services will be held from the family home this afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Spiker of Blairsburg and interment will be made In the Liberty township cemetery.
