J. W. Riley, 80, of Macon, died on Friday, July 7, 1989, at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Funeral Services were held at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Rev. Darrel Schwenk officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Macon.
Mr. Riley was born at Macon on Dec. 22, 1908, the son of James Joseph and Annabell DeJanes Riley. He married Opal Miller on Oct. 9, 1932, at Roosevelt, Ill. He was a lifelong Macon area resident and a farmer. He belonged to the Macon Flywheel & Collectibles Club and the Atlanta Saddle Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Kirks and her husband, Carter, of Macon; three grandchildren, Jim Kirks, Bill Kirks, and Cindi Harpster; three great-grandchildren, Heather and Meredith Kirks and Kylie Harpster; and one brother, Charles Riley of Macon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, who died on May 16, 1987.
