---Albert Jacob Crawford was born to Jonathon and Susan Crawford on July 10, 1866, near Atlanta, Missouri.
---At an early age he became a member of the Bear Creek Presbyterian Church, later transferring his membership to the Presbyterian Church in La Plata, Missouri, where he was a member at the time of his death.
---In 1888 he was united in marriage to Mary Belle Goodding who died at the birth of their only son, Finis B.
---On September 10, 1890 he was married to Loucinda Frances Goodding. To this union were born two daughters and three sons, Carl H. Crawford of Kirksville, Eunice (Mrs. Roy L. Sewell) of Phoenix, Arizona, Herschel G. Crawford of Atlanta, Herman H. Crawford of Salem and Maurine (Mrs. Gordon Romjue) of Atlanta, all of whom survive.
---He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Molly Holliman of Atlanta and Mrs. Ada Flinchpaugh of Kirksville; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
---Al Crawford, as he was familiarly known, was born, reared and reared his entire family on the same home place. He and his wife celebrated, not only their Golden Wedding Anniversary, but their fifty-seventh anniversary with their family on this same home place.
---His long life was devoted, not only to his family, but also to the best interest of his community, county and state. He served as president of the Missouri Farmers Association; on the board of directors of the Consumers Cooperative Association of Kansas City, Missouri and three terms as State Representative of Macon County.
---At the time of his death he was an active director in the Macon-Atlanta State Bank and the Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, both of which he had served for many years.
---The loss of his leadership for the improvement of the schools, churches and other developments to numerous to mention, will be keenly felt.
