My Grandpa, Fred Hicks gave me boxes of his family history and photos. All the photos and many written documents have her full name as Sarah Elizabeth Couplin (sometimes spelled Copeland) Hicks.
In the 1850 and 1860 she is listed as Sarah E. Couplin. In 1870 she is Sarah E. Hicks and in 1880, Sarah E. Hicks. In the 1900 Census, shortly after her husbands death she is Elizabeth Hicks.
