He had lived in Attleboro since 1949 having lived and grown up in North Attleboro where he attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1937 and Graduated from Bryant College in Providence with a BA Degree in 1948. He served with the Army during WW II and was with the First Medical Unit to enter the Dachau Concentration Camp. He was a manager for the former A & P Food stores in Attleboro and other areas for 30 years before retiring in 1976. After retirement he worked for the City of Attleboro Collectors Dept. and was the First Parking Administrator in Attleboro before his retirement in 1987. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Attleboro where he was a Eucharistic Minister and Treasurer of the Church Bingo. He and his late wife summered for many years at Mary Carpenter's Beach Community in Matunuck, RI and was an avid fisherman. He had been a member of St. John's Council #404 Knights of Columbus and the Gilbert Perry Post #115 VFW in Attleboro.
His funeral will be held on Monday, August 22, 2005 at 9 AM from the FOLEY CHAPEL of the Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Homes, 126 South Main St. (Route 152) Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 208 South Main St. Attleboro. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 12:30 PM.
