Funeral services for Mrs. John (Lelia) Peterson, 53, were held Monday, March 4, 1968, at 2:00 o’clock at the American Lutheran Church, La Porte City. Rev. Robert Thomas officiated with interment in West View Cmetery. Pallbearers wre LaMar Pettengill, Larry Pettengill, Hurley Jett, Ralph Lesh, Francis Keegan and John Keegan, all of La Porte City.
Mrs. Peterson passed away March 1, 1968 at Schoitz Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of carcinoma.
She was born October 27, 1914, at La Porte City, the daughter of Walter and Mildred Carlisle.
She was married to John E. Peterson on October 15, 1934 at La Porte City.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, John W., Dysart, and Ronald E., La Porte City; four daughters, Karen Fabor, La Porte City, Mary Bradney, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Patricia Kay and Debbie at home; six grandchildren; three brothers, James Carlisle, La Porte City, Roger Carlisle, Wilton Junction, Walter Carlisle, Evansdale; and three sisters, Mrs. Gladys King, La Porte City, Mrs. Darrell Hiler, Vinton and Mrs. Lloyd Arthur, Cedar Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two children.
