*Effie Jewel Armstrong Walding (June 29, 1928 - December 16, 2017) Services for Effie Jewel Armstrong Walding age 89 of Palestine will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday December 20, 2017 at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Johnny Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Mrs. Walding passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Trucare Living Center. She was born June 29, 1928 in Huntsville, AL. to Willie Franklin Armstrong and Mattie Bell Mason Armstrong. She was retired from Murray Corporation. She was a member of the Grace & Truth Gospel Church. Mrs. Walding was preceded in death by her parents,her husband of 55 years, John Walding, daughter Peggy Lively, son Bobby Walding, sister Etta Bell Guthrie, brothers, Leonard Armstrong, Frank Armstrong, Ed Armstrong, AB Armstrong, and Clyde Armstrong. She is survived by a daughter Judy Glover and husband Bruce, son Johnny Walding and wife Jean, daughter-in-law Cheryl Walding, brother AJ Armstrong, best friend Evelyn Armstrong, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Walding, Chris Walding, Kelley Odom, Brian Glover, Lindsay Jewel Glover and Josh Walding. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, 207 S. Magnolia, Palestine, TX. 75801.
