Mrs. Harlan's Father One Of First White Men To Settle In Callaway.
Girard, Kansas, February 10;
Funeral services will be held tomorrow for Mrs. Elizabeth Catherine Harlan, native of Callaway County, Missouri, and grandmother of Frank O'Brien, Associated Press foreign correspondent at Rome.
Mrs. Harlan, 90, died Saturday at the home of her son, J.H. Harlan of Girard. Her father was one of the first two white men to settle in Callaway County.
Herself, one of 28 brothers and sisters, Mrs. Harlan was the mother of 11 children, nine of who survive. Other survivors include two sisters, twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services at the Union Hill Babtist Church in Holts Summit at 2pm tomorrow will be conducted by her nephew, Reverend Grover Greenway of Bowling Green, Missouri.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
