Services for Gordon Wayne Tucker, 62, of Central, were held April 7, 2001 in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pollok Cemetery. Graveside services under the auspices of Wells Masonic Lodge No. 915 AF&AM.

Mr. Tucker was born on June 1, 1938 in Baytown, Texas, to the late Bivins and Chrystal (Lyles) Tucker and he went home to heaven on April 4, 2001 at his home in Central.

Mr. Tucker was a beloved father, grandfather and brother. He was retired after 30 years with Champion Paper and was a member of the O'Quinn Baptist Church. He was a District Director of Dixie Young Baseball for 25 years and was an avid history and genealogy fan. He was a member of the Wells Masonic Lodge No. 915 AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Janice (Sifford) Tucker; two sons and their wives, Greg and Misty Tucker and Todd and Leslie Tucker; two grandsons, Tyler and Hagen Tucker; sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Tucker) and Eugene Thompson; brother, I J Tucker; mother-in-law, Vara Sifford; several special aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents, Bivin and Chrystal Tucker and his father-in-law, Arthur Sifford.
