Kenneth B. Bower, 70 of rural Newton, IL passed away at 6:40 AM on Sunday, March 2, 2003 at his home.

Kenneth was born August 3, 1932 in Newton, IL the son of Merritt Everett and Chloie Ethel (Whitehurst) Bower.. He married Arlene Scott on September 20, 1957 in Richland County, Illinois.

Kenneth was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean conflict. He owned and operated the K & A Tank Service for over 10 years and worked in the Lawn and Garden Department at Walmart. He had had been a member of Sandy Creek Christian Church in the Kedron Community.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Arlene Bower of Newton; brothers, Roe (Lillian) Bower of Newton and Gerald (Wanda) Bower of Wheeler; sisters, Dorothy Toland of Wheeler, LaVerne Toland of Effingham, Ruby Tabb of Mesa, AZ and June (Ralph) Kidwell of Effingham and a sister-in-law, Opal Bower of Wheeler.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Floyd Bower.
