Alpena News--Sept 18, 1942

Mrs. John Emerson, aged 70, Wilson, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs Peter Connell, 519 Oldfield, of infirmities of age. She became , incapacitated a year ago and moved to the home of her daughter from Wilson.
She was born Mulvina Prevost, Sept. 13, 1872, in Ontario, Canada. She came o Wilson township at the age of 14 with her parents, Mr and Mrs Oliver Prevost. She married Robert Compeau, who died 28 years ago and 12 children were born to them. Four years ago she married John Emerson of Wilson.
She is survived by her husband, six daughters, Mrs Frank Brousseau, Mrs Peter Connell, Alpena; Mrs Ernest Sauve, Herron; Mr John Clearwood, Mrs William Meloche, Mrs Ed Meloche, Dtroit; six sons, Earl Compeau, Raymond Compeau, Leo Compeau, Floyd Compeau, Detroit; David Compeau, Alpena; Alfred Compeu, Miami, Fla; one sister, Mrs John Pariseau, Alpena; six brothers, Edward, Alpena; Victor, Edlore, Levi and Treffley, Wilson and Joseph Prevost, East Jordan; 34 grandchildren and three gr-grandchildren.
All of th family, except her son Alford, ho livies in Florida, will attend the funeral which will be at 9:30 Monday at St Rose Church, Herron.
