Electrical Magazine Tells of Main Street Appliance Company

The Main Street Appliance company, W. O. Hutchins, owner, is featured in a 2 page article in the August issue of Electrical South, a monthly journal published in the interest of power companies, electrical contractors, dealers and wholesalers.
The photographs of Hutchins and his show rooms accompany the article.
The subject of the article is "Air Conditioning for Small Business Proves a Good Line for Dealer." It says in part:
"Air conditioning at a price for small business, easily and efficiently engineered has proved to be invaluable in keeping the ship afloat during the short merchandise period for the Main Street Appliance Company, Carthage, MO.
"W. O. Hutchins, owner, started a year and a half ago, planning an investment in a new appliance store of about $5,000. A year later he had $12,000 in the business, with merchandise almost unobtainable in profitable quantities.
"Hero of the story is their air conditioning sales, which carried the business and made a profit, while other departments were being organized and while merchandise and appliance lines were trying to get normalized again.
"Heart of the selling success was competent engineering and installation."
The Electrical South has a nationwide circulation and Mr. Hutchins' success story not only gives him desirable advertising, but advertises Carthage as well.
