She lived in Conshohocken all through her childhood. Graduating from Conshohocken High School in 1927. After graduating, she went to work at Lee Tires as well as Corson Quarries.
She married David Francis Murphy On February 8, 1930. They had 2 sons David Francis Murphy, Jr and Gerald Wilmer Murphy. During this time they resided in West Conshohocken, first on Front Street then buying a home at 625 Ford Street. It was there that they adopted their niece Karen Murphy (Hauk-Quinn). Pop-Pop Murphy passed away on January 20, 1966. Around 1968/69 she then married Robert Kelley. Pop-pop Kelley passed away on June 8, 1971.
Grandmom worked for many years at Wallace Jewelers on 2nd Avenue and Fayette Street in Conshohocken. She was a devout Catholic and belonged to Saint Gertrude's Church in West Conshohocken for many years and then Saint Matthew's Church in Conshohocken. She had been chosen by Father Donlan (at Saint Matthew's Church) to be visited by Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua.
Later in life she lived at Marshall Lee Towers on 3rd and Fayette in Conshohocken.
She had 10 grandchildren. They are: Carole Ann, David, Kevin and Sharon Murphy; Geraldine and Sarah Murphy; Lisa, Denise, Richard and Susan Hauk. They in turn gave her great grandchildren - at the time of her passing on January 27, 2001 she had 14 Great-Grandkids with one on way. She passed away 2 weeks before her 91st birthday.
She was such a kindhearted and caring person. And is greatly missed by all of us!! XOXO
