OGDEN – Afton Aileen Richards, 84, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011.

She was born May 8, 1927 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Ianthus Leo and Lily Mae Barker Richards.

Afton was born, raised, and schooled in Ogden where she lived and worked her entire life and enjoyed her retirement.

She was a life member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Ogden Women's Bowling Association.

Afton loved bowling, ice skating and skiing. She was an avid reader, loved to travel the world and spend time with her beloved cat, Snoopy.

Surviving are her brothers, Ray (Mildred) Richards, Ogden; James (Ara) Richards, Provo; brother-in-law, Paul Thorsted, Ogden; sister-in-law, Hope Richards, North Ogden; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jack Richards and sister, Edith Thorsted.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Services entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
