Saginaw, MI - P.W. 'Slim' Hale, 91 died Friday. Born and raised in Salem, he married Katherine Schampier on Oct. 29, 1939 in Salem. He served on Salem City Council for three terms from Jan. 1957 until Jan. 1968 and was very active in politics. He served as chairman of Salem Airport Committee for five years as well as an ombudsman for eight years for nursing homes.
He was a lifetime member of the Salem Elks BPOE #336 and enjoyed fishing and traveling. Slim moved to Saginaw in 2002.
He is servived by two sons, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. He is presceded in death by his parents, Fred G. and Lottie Hale, and two sisters.
