Dr. Eaton, a 1979 cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in 1983 and was about to begin a residency in orthopedics at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. Richard G. Eaton, chief of the hand surgery service at Roosevelt Hospital, and Dr. DuRee H. Eaton, chief of pediatric cardiology at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn; two sisters, Holly and Hillary, and his grandmother, Levon Hunter of Clear Lake, Iowa
