Julian S. Adams, 87 of Ferry Street, Easthampton died Wednesday July 6th in Overlook at Northampton. He was born May 9, 1924 in Montague the son of the late Andrew and Louise Bonk Adams. He attended schools in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School. He was employed at the Westfield Gage as a precision machinist retiring in 1994. He was previously employed by the former Hampton Mills of Easthampton and the Springfield Armory. He was a WW11 US Marine Veteran serving as Staff Sargeant and crew chief in the Asiatic Theatre with Unit 541 (N) with battles of Leyte and Peleliu. His unit was the only unit to receive an Army Citation by General Dwight Eisenhower during World War 11. Julian was a member of the Dalton Lavalee Post 224. He was a member of the former Notre Dame Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a resident of Easthampton since 1947. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Julian is survived by his wife of 64 years Eileen(King) Adams, one son, four daughters, one sister Louise Sparko of Easthampton, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a dear friend Dan Ducharme. He was predeceased by four brothers, Theodore, Henry, Edward and Joseph Adams, and two sisters Roslee Tuvek and Mary Radowicz. The funeral will be Monday July 11 at 10 am in the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in the Our Lady of The Valley Church. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4-7pm in the Mitchell Funeral Home, Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery all of Easthampton.
