"ARTHUR CARL KUNZE
LAKIN -- Arthur Carl Kunze, 92, diec March 25, 1994, at Kearny County Hospital, Lakin.
He was born March 3, 1902, in Indian Territory, Okla., the son of Franz and Henrietta Voight Kunze. He worked as a sand pumper. A Lakin resident since 1960, he had lived in Emporia, Great Bend and Garden City. After moving to Lakin, he was a well-known truck farmer and sold garden products and honey. He also had a green house and sold plants. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and baseball in his younger days.
Mr. Kunze was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lakin.
He married Lula Agnes Kelley on Dec. 19, 1926, at Broken Arrow, Okla. She died April 10, 1993.
Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Freeman, Oklahoma City, Pat Salter, Syracuse, and Dorothy Austin, Phoenix; a sister, Bertha Bieberich, Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-granchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Herman, a granddaughter, three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lakin, the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Lakin Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Garnand Funeral Home, Lakin.
