J CALVIN HOWE DIES TODAY, RITES INCOMPLETE
J Calvin Howe passed away at 10:10 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Edith Howe.
He was born January 20, 1878 in Wilson County, Kansas, the son of James R "Tom" and Mary Gillespie Howe. He was married to Otie Severe November 30, 1905, in Clarksburg Township where they have spent the entire sixty five years of their married life.
Besides his wife, Otie, he leaves one son, Carl Howe of Kansas City, Kansas and seven daughters, Miss Edith Howe, Mrs Vera Pease and Mrs Leta Yantis all of Shelbyville, Mrs Rella Salmons of Brownstown, Mrs Bertha Roy of Mattoon, Mrs Fleeta Griffin of Decatur and Mrs Doris Helton of Mesa, Arizona. He also leaves 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one brother J Roy Howe of Wakonda, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Arrangements are incomplete at the Howe and Yockey Funeral Home.

Funeral services for J Calvin Howe will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Howe and Yockey Funeral Home with burial in Glenwood cemetery.
