MRS J C HOWE DIES AT HOME, RITES INCOMPLETE
Mrs J (John) Calvin Howe passed away at 11:50 a.m. today in her home (in the home of her daughter Edith Howe) at 518 North Broadway.
Arrangements are incomplete at the Howe and Yockey Funeral Home.
Mrs (Otie Filena Severe) Howe was born in Shelby county Jan 25, 1883, the daughter of Jesse and Martha Banning Severe. She was married to J (John) Calvin Howe on Nov 30, 1905, in Clarksburg Township, and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1971.
She also was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs Howe leaves one son, Carl, of Kansas City, Kan; and seven daughters, Miss Edith Howe, Mrs Vera Pease and Mrs Leta Yantis, all of Shelbyville, Mrs Rella Salmons of Brownstown, Mrs Bertha Roy of Mattoon, Mrs Fleta Griffin of Decatur, and Mrs Doris Helton of Mesa, ARiz. She also leaves one brother, Verne Severe; and one sister, Mrs Cordia Dildine, both of Shelbyville; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
