OBITUARY (From Johnson City Press-Chronicle 9/23/1959)

Quentin Vernon Hilton, 40, of Rt. 4, died unexpectedly at 7 p.m. yesterday, apparently of a heart attack, while working at his home. A native of Washington County, Hilton served over 20 years in the U.S. Navy, having retired recently as a Chief Machinist Mate. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Prior to his entering service in 1939, he attended Boones Creek High School. Hilton was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Berkley Lodge 167, Norfolk, Va.

Surviviors include his widow, Mrs. Alma Wilson Hilton; one daughter Sonya [Kaye] of the home; his mother, Mrs. Weldon Hilton, Rt. 4, city; one sister, Mrs Margaret Orren, Rt. 4, city; three brothers, Dennis Hilton, city, the Rev. Roger Hilton, Kingsport, and Donald L. Hilton, Rt. 4, city; several nieces and nephews.
