MRS. H.E. RICE PASSES
Mrs. Icey Rice, widow of the late H.E. Rice, passed away about three o'clock this morning at Lakeside hospital in Kansas City.
She had been in failing health the past six weeks, ever since her return from California, where she had spent the winter with her son, Walter Rice and daughter Mrs. Joe (Ada) Wright. She had also been quite ill while in California but had recovered sufficiently to make the trip home. Since her return to Cameron, she had been cared for in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Louge on North Walnut.
Mrs. Rice was 78 years of age, and was born in Ohio. Her early married life was spent in Nebraska, but the majority of their children were born in Cameron, where the family were long time residents. Mr. Rice passed away here in March 1949.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Chas. Louge, Cameron; Mrs. Joe Wright, Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. Clifford Meyers of Turney; three sons, Walter of Richmond, Calif., Glee of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Milton of Cameron, one brother, James Adams, Kellerton, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service arrangements await word from several relatives.
