Prominent Man Buried Tuesday

"Uncle Lige" Dasher is dead! He was a familiar and beloved figure on the streets of Glennville for many years. Everybody loved him and his appearance was always the signal for pleasant remarks and laughter.

Although his parents named him Elijah 66 years ago, he has been Uncle Lige to all his acquaintances for years, and Uncle Lige he will remain in the memory of the hundreds who loved him.

He attended church last Sunday and died before midnight. Those who know him best feel sure he spent his last day in the very way he would have chosen, for he loved God, and delighted in His worship.
Mr. Dasher is survived by his wife, three brothers, Willie Dasher of Savannah, Eben Dasher of Manassas, and Thomas Dasher of his community; one sister, Mrs. Warren Mock of Long county.

Funeral services were conducted at New Beard's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Tuesday at 11 a.m. by Elder W.R. Wilkinson of Claxton.

Pallbearers were A.D. Burns, C.W. Dixon, L.K. Rushing, J.A. Knight, and J.F. Lanier. Burial was in the church cemetery by C.M. Stanfield, mortician.
