Alimah R. Abdullah, also known as Tracy Ali, 47, Reading, passed away peacefully June 10, 2008, with her mother by her side in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient since June 6. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, she was a daughter of Juanita (Allen) Ali-Smith, Reading; and the late Willie D. Hodges; and a stepdaughter of John W. Smith, Reading. She was the eldest of eight children. She was employed for 11 years by Verizon Communications until her passing. She was a committed employee, serving on various committees. Alimah supervised and provided ongoing training for new hires and employee associates at Verizon. She was a regular contributing writer for one of the company's newsletters. Alimah also was a union representative under IBEW Local 1944. She attended the University of Islam in Ohio and Michigan. She was a Muslim most of her life. She was of Islamic faith and lately became affiliated with North Eighth Street Church of God. She also is survived by a daughter,; and three sons. Other survivors include two brothers, and five sisters. There also are three grandchildren She also was predeceased by a sister, Fatima C. Ali, on May 25, 2001. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Auman Funeral Home, Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
