ANDERSON, Mildred E.

Passed away peacefully, in the presence of her children on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Sullivan Park Care Center, Spokane Valley, WA. The daughter of William and Dora (Thiel) Schaefer, Mildred was born May 4, 1916 at Ritzville, WA. She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1935. Mildred married Edward Wayne Anderson October 6, 1940 at Zion Congregational Church in Ritzville, WA. Together they moved to Washtucna where they farmed and raised cattle. In 1949 they moved to Heppner, OR for four years, returning to Ritzville in 1953 and began farming for her father. They then moved to Spokane Valley in 1973 after Wayne's retirement. Her husband Wayne preceded her in death in March of 2003. Mildred was a member of Zion Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school, in Spokane she was a member of Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, and a member of the Valley Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, a son Kenneth in 1962, and by a brother Everett Schaefer. Surviving is a son Gary and wife Carol Anderson of Spokane Valley, and a daughter Kay White of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Michelle and Shannon Anderson, Wendi Hibbard, Phillip and Kortney White; and two great grandchildren Jadyn and Ryle Hibbard. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM, at the DANEKAS FUENRAL HOME, RITZVILLE, WA, with Pastor Jim CastroLang, officiating. Vault interment will follow at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur, Spokane, WA 99202. Visitation for Mrs. Anderson will be from 1 to 5 PM on Friday, at the Danekas Funeral Home.
