Robert "Bob" George Ireland, 64, Dallas, Texas, died Sept. 29, 2005, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Peoria, Ill., to Paul and Vivien (Bushnell) Ireland.

In 1946, the family moved to West Chicago where he attended grade school and was a 1958 graduate of Wheaton High School.

After graduating, he was employed by Scripture Press as a landscaper. From 1963 until 1967, he served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Japan.

After leaving the military, he attended the University of North Texas where he earned a bachelor of fine arts degree. He then moved to Baton Rouge, La., where he was a pottery professor at the local university. He later moved to Dallas where he started his own antique restoration business. He also had been employed by the City of Dallas Parks Department.

He attended First Baptist Church in Dallas**. He enjoyed gardening, motorcycle riding and his cats as well as nature, photography and listening to classical music.

He is survived by his mother, Vivien, Westboro; by four brothers, Paul (fiance, Millie Helmle), San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Jim (Bette), West Chicago, Ill., Joe, Las Cruces, N.M., and David (Betty), Maryville, Tenn.; by one sister, Ruth (Chester "Chet") Decker, Westboro; by special friend, Bob Sedwick, Dallas; and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; by a brother, John; by a sister, Jeanie Ireland; and by a sister-in-law, Naomi Ireland.

A private graveside service will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in the town of Hill.
