She was the daughter of the late Truxton and Emeline Gard Etheridge and widow of William Robert Perry and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons: Charlie W., Herbert L., Edgar A., and Milton L. Perry, all of Kitty Hawk; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Hines of Norfolk; one step-daughter, Mrs. Levetta Beasley of Kitty Hawk; one sister, Mrs. Mary Midgett of Kitty Hawk; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The body was removed to Twiford Funeral Home in Manteo pending completion of arrangements.

Mrs. Hildegarde Etheridge Perry, 89, died at 6:40 Monday afternoon at her home in Kitty Hawk.
Mrs. Perry, who was one of Kitty Hawk's oldest residents, drove her car around the community until some two years ago, when she was forced to become less active than usual.
She was the widow of the late William Robert Perry.
Born in Nags Head, Mrs. Perry was the daughter of the late Truxton and Emeline Gard Etheridge.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Hines of Norfolk, Va., four sons: Charlie W., Herbert, L. Edgar A., and Milton L. Perry, all of Kitty Hawk; one sister, Mrs. Mary Midgett of Kitty Hawk; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Perry was a member of the Kitty Hawk Primitive Baptist Church.
Graveside services were conducted Wednesday by Elder Trevathan, Free Will Baptist Minister of Virginia Beach.
