Katherine V. (Nederostek) Donchez, 92, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, October 30, 2008, at her residence. Katherine was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Kachmarcik) Nederostek and the wife of Stephen Donchez, whom she married on September 1, 1941. Katherine was a seamstress for the former Muriel Dress Co. for many years in Bethlehem and a member of the I.L.G.W.U. Easton Council. She was a member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Katherine will be lovingly remembered by her husband, five grandchildren, James J. Heckenberger Jr. and wife Michele of Mertztown, Steve C. Heckenberger and wife Keri of Stockertown, Melissa M. Adams and husband Timothy of Nazareth, Michele M. Spade and husband Joseph of Bethlehem and Melinda M. Burger and husband David of Northampton, seven great-grandchildren, Sadie, Lauren, Katelyn, Jarod, James, Keiraleigh and Kylynn, four brothers, Michael Nederostek and wife Anna of Cementon, Jacob Nederostek and wife Marie of Plymouth Meeting, Emil Nederostek of Saratoga, Calif., and Frederick Nederostek and wife Margie of Northampton, sister, Emma Hirschman of Northampton, two sister-in-laws, Eva Nederostek of Allentown, and Marie Nederostek of Fullerton, brother-in-law, Charles Beidleman of Northampton, son-in-law, Gilbert Smith of Northampton, many nieces and nephews, and many friends. Katherine was predeceased by her daughter Rita Heckenberger-Smith, son-in-law James J. Heckenberger Sr., four brothers, John, Edward, Andrew and Bernard Nederostek, and three sisters, Elaine Beidleman, Susie Gallick and Mary Shaputnic.

Services: Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008, and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, followed by a
Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
Wednesday in Incarnation of Our Lords Parish,
617 Pierce St.,
Bethlehem.
