OBITUARY
Norman H. Thompson was born July 22nd 1831, in Ticonderoga, Essex County New York. On September 4th 1855 he was married to Cynthia Ingells. To this union were born seven sons and one daughter, one son dying in infancy. The deceased lived to see fifteen grand children and five great-grand children all of whom were living st the time of his death.
Mr. Thompson spent 18 years of his life in Wisconsin and it was during his life there that he was married at Medina of that state.
After leaving Wisconsin, he spent two years with his family in Missouri before coming to this state, where for over thirty years he has made his home in Sherman County, the greater part of this time on his farm near Austin. In July of the present year he went to Omaha to visit his sons Elmer and Lincoln, and while there was over come by the disease that on September 11th 1911 caused his death. Before his last visit to Omaha he had been living in Loup City with his son there, and for some years has been a sufferer. He was one of the pioneer settlers of this county, and was a charter member of the Austin Presbyterian church, until two years ago, when he transferred his membership to the Loup City church of that denomination, where he held his membership at the time of his death.
The funeral services was (sic) held Wednesday. September 13th. at Austin, conducted by the Rev. J. C. Tourtellot and interment was made in the Austin cemetery.
