Alice Faye Medlin, 67, of Steele, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 in Steele.
Born Jan. 10, 1944 in Ypsilanti, Mich., she is the daughter of the late George Schwartz and Zora McNabb Schwartz.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Lee Schwartz.
Alice was united in marriage to Harold Medlin on March 23, 1962 in Caruthersville. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Steele High School in the class of 1961 and attended college where she studied art.
Alice had a love for painting.
She worked many years at the Garment Factory in Steele and worked as a CNA at River Oaks Center in Steele.
Mrs. Medlin leaves three sons; William Medlin and Brandy and Curt Medlin and Juanita of Steele and Greg Medlin of Jefferson City.
Three daughters; Wendi Powell and Roger and Jackie Booker and Daryl of Steele and Elaine Medlin of Doniphan, Mo.; Three brothers; George Schwartz, Orville Schwartz, and Curtis Schwartz, all of Weldon, Ill.; One sister, Joann Crews, of Weldon.
Thirteen grandchildren; Amber and Kelle Powers, Eric and Haven Dent, Ashley, Maegon, Aaron and Shelby Booker, Christopher Medlin, Sarah Medlin, Hannah Hensley, Josh Powell and Blake, Dawson and Trucker McClich, and Four great-grandchildren; Kyra and Nolan Dent and Logan and Carter Powers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Medlin were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Keith Bullock officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Pallbearers were Daryl Booker, Aaron Booker, Kelle Powers, Roger Powell, Josh Powell and Christopher Medlin.
