Death of Mr. Watkins

Died, of typhoid fever, Friday night, November 17, Mr. E.F. Watkins of Ray county, temporarily resident of this city. Mr. Watkins had been ill for eight weeks, and for the past week little hope had been entertained of his recovery.

Mr. Watkins moved his family here about eighteen months ago for the purpose of educating his children in the schools here. He was born in Ray county, three miles south of Richmond, about 45 years ago. Eighteen years ago he was married to Miss Mattie Maitland, a daughter of Alexander Maitland.

Mrs. Watkins and four children, Charles, Maitland, Mary and Henrietta survive him.

The remains were taken to the home of Mr. Watkins' sister in Ray county, where the funeral services occurred Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
