Born in Money Creek Township, McLean Co, Illinois. The township takes the name of the Creek which enters it's borders near the southwestern corner and passes to the northwest.

LEXINGTON NEWSPAPER OBITUARY:
DEATH CLAIMS MRS. JOHN H. FLESHER: Woman Well Known and Beloved, Died Monday Morning. Funeral Wednesday.
Mrs. John Henry Flesher passed away at her home in this city Mon. morning, Mar. 24, 1924 at 3:45. She had been in failing health for a number of years and during the past year had been growing noticeably weaker. Death was the result of a complication of diseases.

Amanda Jane Henline, daughter of Mr & Mrs John Henline was born in Money Creek township, April 12, 1859. She was married to John Henry Flesher on Feb. 25, 1875. Three children were born to this union; Mrs. N.B. McNamar, James E. Flesher and Clarence F. Flesher, all of Lexington, Illinois.

There are 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She also leaves 3 sisters; Mrs G.W. Hayes of Chicago, who was at her bedside when she died, Mrs C.T. Stevens and Mrs Phillip Haushalter, also of Chicago; 2 brothers, George and Anderson Henline preceded her in death. Her husband survives her.

All of her married life was spent on a farm in Money Creek township, until 9 years ago when she moved to Lexington, Illinois.

Mrs. Flesher was noted for her gentleness and kindness to others in their times of trouble and sorrow. She was devoted to the raising of her family in Christian ways and was a faithful member of the United Brethren Church.

Funeral services were held from the residence at 2:30 o'clock Wed. afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. Guy Jordan, pastor of the United Brethren Church, assisted by Rev. L.A. Whitesell of Bloomington, Illinois. The scripture read was the 5th Chapter of Romans and had been selected by Mrs. Flesher during her illness. She also chose the songs which were used at the funeral services. A mixed quartet composed of the Misses Flossie & Fern Stamm, Rev. L.A. Whitesell and Mr Joseph Leach sang "Face to Face" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Rev. Whitesell sang the solo "Somewhere a Voice is Calling" and the Misses Stamm sang as a duet, "Abide With Me." Miss Vera Augsburger acted as accompanist.

The Pall Bearers were: Bernie Young, Joe Hefner, Mack Benedict, Robert F. Flesher, Ora Haushalter and Ora McNamar.

Those from out of town who were present at the funeral services were: The deceased's sister, Sabra Ellen (Henline) Stevens & her husband, Mr. Charles T. Stevens and Mrs George Hayes of Chicago; E.D. Merritt of Peoria, Mrs Lizzie Shepard, Mr & Mrs Anderson Patton and Mrs Grace Goodwin of Normal, Illinois; Rev. O. McNamar of Colfax, and Mr & Mrs Ed Flesher of Gridley. Interment was made in the Lexington Cemetery.
