Amundson was raised at Breckenridge, Stephens County, Texas and Midland, Texas. She moved to Sweet Home in 1952 from Abilene, Texas. Amundson moved to Albany in 1987.
She married Arnie Amundson on 2 August 1952 in Sweethome, Oregon.
Survivors: husband; three daughters - Teena Brown, Rita Wheatly, Tonja Groshong; two sons - Billy and Arnie, II; two brothers - T. Hebert and Glen Hebert, both of Breckenridge; three sisters - Odessa Amundson of OR, Gwendolyn Johns and Hazell Ritter, both of Breckenridge; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson.
