When he was 47, they arrived in Silver City, New Mexico in 1871 from San Francisco. They ran a successful general merchandising business. They bought the building which would become the Southern Hotel, from Mr. Charles Lesinsky who was leasing the building to Alfred M. Connor, who established it into a first class hotel. *Mrs. Katherine Antrim, neighbor and friend of the Abraham’s, was a launderer here. (Mother of “Billy the Kid”). Mr. Abrahams’ funeral service was held at the hotel. Mrs Abraham sold the business to her son Louis circa 1900, and returned to her home in Germany. (Louis was a friend of Henry, aka Billy The Kid.)
