Thomas is a son of: James Kennedy and Elizabeth Herron McCleary Kennedy. He married: Mary Polly Young 08/13/1805 in Garrard Co., KY. They had the following Children: James B., Thomas C., Elizabeth, John Young, Hannah, Mary S., Laura, Asa Hall, Allen Berige and Nancy Mahaly. Personal history: Thomas and Mary moved to Maury County, Tennessee in 1806 (after 1807) along with brothers James, John and Francis Herron, and some cousins named Herron. He bought land from a cousin Andrew Herron in Maury Co. Thomas was in Morgan County, Missouri by 1826 along with William Dunagan (Dunnegan). He sold his Maury County, Tennessee farm in 1832 and the same year was elected a judge (justice of the Peace) in Morgan County, MO.
