James M. Ferrell, 69, 1308 S. Elm, died today at Ball Hospital after a long illness. A native of Smithville, Tenn., he came to Muncie in 1926 and was employed at the old Muncie Products. He later worked as a bartended and farm laborer.

He moved back to Tennessee where he lived for seven years, returning to Muncie in 1960. Mr. Ferrell was a member of the Riverview Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; three sons, Paul Ferrell, Selma, Harry Ferrell, Yorktown, and Robert Eugene Ferrell, Olathe, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Haskell Ferrell, Hartsella, Ala., and Lou Ferrell, Smithville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Riverview Church of the Nazarene with the pastor, Rev. Richard Veach, officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Callers will be received at the Parson Mortuary from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church one hour before the funeral.
