Mr. Barnard was born December 13, 1921 in Berrian Co., GA. He opened Barnards Convenience Foods in 1969 and ran it until his retirement in 1987. He was a Colquitt City Councilman, served as Mayor for 6 months, Mayor Pro tem for 6 years, and attended Donalsonville Free Will Baptist Church. His survivors include his wife, Inez H. Barnard of Colquitt, GA; three daughters, Patricia D. Hopkins & Linda G. Knight both of Valdosta, Robin Renee Griffin of Colquitt; eight sons, Russell W. Barnard, Ronnie E. Barnard, Gary J. Barnard of Valdosta, Daniel A. Barnard of Bainbridge, Roger L. Barnard of Donalsonville, Johnny D. Linton of Port St. Joe, Fl, Bennie Frank Linton of Wewahitchka, FL and Richard J. Redd of Colquitt; twenty two grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Sandra Gail Hutto, of Valdosta, Ga.
