Bertha Alice Reeves, 87, of 310 S. Ohio, El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away on July 31, 1984 at Cedar County Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born August 12, 1897 in Cedar County, to Mark L and Lenora L. (Fortney) Shaw. She was a member of the church of God holiness.

She was married in 1913 to Hugh J. Reeves. To this union six children were born -five sons and one daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1946, and one son, Mitchell Liston, who died at the age of eight of diphtheria and was buried at Arkalon, Kansas.

Survivors include; four sons , Vernon Reeves of Rockville, California, Melvin Reeves of Kansas city, Doyle Reeves of Orlando, Florida, Merlin Reeves of Winfield, Kansas, one daughter Jewell Allen the DeFord, Michigan; One brother Noah Shaw of El Dorado Springs; three sisters - Irene Leonard, Effie Brown and Dovie Mann, all of El Dorado Springs, 16 grand children, several great grandchildren.

Services were held at the Hackleman -Peterman chapel on Saturday, August 4, with Reverend Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial was in the Hackleman cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Leonard, Todd Leonard, Cleo witt, Brent Bland, Milon Bourland and Davis Foster.
