Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday from the Hollandale United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Alexander, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Hollandale Cemtery. Boone Funeral Home of Leland has charge of arrangements.
Mr. Alexander was a native of Hollandale and was the son of Mrs. Lady Bell Alexander Matthews and the late Ira Hopper Alexander. He attended the public schools of Hollandale and the University of Mississippi, later graduating from Colorado College.
A veteran of World War II, after his discharge Mr. Alexander returned to Hollandale, where he was active in civic and community affairs. He was a member of the board of stewards of the Methodist Church for many years. He was a member of the Hollandale School Board and for 25 years was a member of the Washington County Draft Board.
Mr. Alexander also was a former member of the Federal Land Bank board of directors, was a past president of the Hollandale Rotary Club and was a Shriner.
In addition to his mother, of Hollandale, Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Treadway Alexander of Hollandale; one daughter, Mrs. Pat Brooks of Hollandale; one son, Dr. K. D. Alexander Jr. of Hollandale; two sisters, Mrs. Knox Austin of Vicksburg and Mrs. Joe Petrunak of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
